A big part of a wedding reception revolves around the cake. The bride and groom both cut a slice then tenderly feed each other, or playfully smash and smear the slice of cake all over their partner's face! The cake ceremony is one of our oldest and most fun wedding traditions, which means lots of pictures, which means you want your cake to look good!
What better way to enhance a wedding cake than with beautiful florals. Here are a few suggestions that will explain how flowers on the cake can enhance your overall décor and make your cake look as good as it tastes!
- When using real flowers on the cake make sure the colors are exact to the rest of the
wedding flowers. To do this make sure your florist is involved in the floral selection for the cake. The
florist can either bring the flowers for the cake decorator, or your cake decorator can get the flowers from your
florist prior to the wedding and place them at the bakery.
- You can go for a very simple cake topped with a small pave of flowers, or opt for a more dramatic look by placing dense groupings of flowers in between each layer.
- Another beautiful way to incorporate flowers is to make the cake table part of an entire visual display. You can do this by creating a lush grouping of flowers around the cake. To make the cake appear as if it's floating on a cloud of flowers you can cover the table in flowers and then place clear glass over that.
Remember your wedding cake is on display for a couple of hours during your reception, making it a part of your reception décor - so make sure it receives the attention and spotlight it deserves!
