Brides (and florists) are always looking for great trends to dazzle the senses during a wedding ceremony. The latest trend that is literally sweeping down aisles across the country is petal patterns.
The moment a bride walks down the aisle is an important one and it is no wonder that brides love to explore interesting ways to line their aisles. It used to be common to either scatter petals down the center of the aisle for a traditional look or down the sides for a clean look, but more and more brides are trying to create a picture with the flowers atop the aisle.
The petal pattern a bride decides on can really compliment the "feeling" she is trying to create during her ceremony. Paisley, diamond and even monogram patterns are all popular options. A swirly, paisley pattern is more fun and playful, while a diamond pattern is more geometric and modern.
Rose petals really lend themselves to creating petal patterns. They separate easily and are not going to trip the bride, like a gerber daisy could, while she is walking down the aisle. Other interesting flowers to consider are gladiola blooms and hydrangea petals. Both of these options are more costly than roses when trying to dress up an entire aisle. Although many assume roses are costly, they actually are a great deal because each bloom provides a generous amount of petals.
Roses also come in a beautiful spectrum of colors - giving the bride many fun choices. It is really striking to do the pattern in different shades of the same color. Orange would be perfect for this; the pattern could begin with the lightest, blushy peach and end with the most vibrant orange!
It is surprising, but the petals really stay on their own, unless it is a particularly gusty day. But the wind is not a petal pattern's only threat - guests can be too! It is best to have the aisle tied off at the entrance to prevent guests from cutting across.
Petal patterns are perfect for adding beauty to an already beautiful moment - when the bride takes the most important walk of her life!
