For this styled shoot, photographers Lucas Rossi and Michelle Kyle aimed to accentuate “the dreamy mystery of a garden” for a modern-day wedding. Eden Gardens in Moorpark, California, provided an idyllic setting with lush grounds, colorful flowers, and fountains. Versatile invitation options were offered for such an alfresco fête: a die-cut model with elegant script or a square sample with a modern font. Gold lettering hinted at the metallic elements of the décor of the celebration.

One stunning bride made a bold statement in a fit-and-flare lace dress with delicate beading outlining the neckline and low back, long sleeves, and frothy cathedral train. Two diamond bands framed her round-stone engagement ring. Another beaming bride took a more classic, romantic approach by wearing a marvelous ball gown with a sweetheart neckline, ruched bodice, beaded belt, and tulle skirt by Anne Barge. A jeweled, vintage-style headband held her short hair in place, exposing sparkling diamond drop earrings. Her handsome groom was attired in a fashion-forward teal tuxedo jacket with black satin lapels, a bow tie, and ebony trousers. Both ladies carried bouquets of vanilla blooms and verdure that looked like they had been freshly picked from the garden landscape.

Beneath market lights, long tables were clad in gilt, crushed taffeta linens for the reception. In keeping with the pastoral locale, white roses punctuated leafy runners that cascaded off the sides of tables. Silver tumblers were paired with crystal goblets, while glistening gold chargers offset ivory china plates. Menus featuring bullion metallic strands and wax seals, along with rosebuds and greenery, were nestled in ivory napkins. “No need for over-the-top details and decorations in an already stunning setting,” concludes Lucas.
