“Jason was just so polite and sweet. Over time I looked forward to seeing him even though we were on different shifts,” Farah Paillant describes as she contemplates when she and Jason Richardson worked together. Their love grew stronger, and Jason proposed after the pair moved into their new house. Following a trail of roses and candles, Farah was let to their bedroom to find a heart and Jason on one knee.

Amy Anaiz captured precious moments of the glamorous event. Visualizing a regal, timeless ambience for the big day, the bride and groom pursued elegant decor showcasing black and gold elements. The groom himself wore a black suit jacket adorned with gold print. The weather, however, resulted in rearrangement. “It rained on that day and everything was moved inside. We couldn’t have the pedestals and flower décor down the aisle, and the violinist had to play from an adjoining room.” Despite the rain, the soirée still executed the gorgeous theme. Atop the black reception tables stood tall centerpieces made of gold manzanita branches. Hydrangeas were placed at the base of the trees, and orchids and crystals cascaded down the branches. The bouquet also featured extravagant details. “It was full of brooches, pearls and studs,” Farah explains.

After the lovebirds recited their personalized vows in the stunning mansion, 170 attendees gathered in the reception hall to indulge in an elegant dinner, international coffee station, and an array of customized treats. After the meal, the pair shared the music and dance of their heritages. “My family is from Haiti and my husband and his family is from St.Vincent and Grenadines. This was reflected through the music. Even the first dance had a little bit of both.” In lieu of traditional favors, guests took home mini sparkling wine bottles that highlighted the color scheme. These were placed around a customized wedding sign honoring the special day.

In addition to her wedding story, Farah also shares a tip for all engaged couples planning. “Do not let people influence your decisions. Do what makes you happy.”
