25 Ideas for Fall Wedding Décor

It's officially fall! While that means the air will become crisp and the leaves will begin to change, it also signifies the start of a season that puts couples in the mood to sit by the fire, cuddle up with a blanket, and sip hot cider while planning their nuptials. Pairs getting married in the autumn may consider a color palette and theme fit for the season: moody hues paired with warm woods and natural materials and textures. Brides- and grooms-to-be who will be saying "I do" in the spring or summer may also choose this look, regardless of the season, since it's a less-common décor style that feels relaxed, romantic, and welcoming. There are a variety of ways to feature autumn-inspired décor – from before guests step foot at the venue until the moment they say their goodbyes. Send invitations showcasing floral or foliage motifs in deep hues reminiscent of the changing leaves, have the groom or groomsmen don maroon suits or boutonnieres, or adorn reception tables with blooms in shades of crimson, yellow, plum, orange, and magenta. Velvety fabrics, natural wood details, brassy elements, and plenty of candlelight will also warm up the room and provide an ambient atmosphere for loved ones. The options are truly endless, and it's up to ...

  • How to Communicate Effectively with Wedding Professionals

We’ve entered a new age. When I began my career as a wedding planner, clients would approach me with their selected colors, an overall feeling, a spending limit, and so on. They would have purchased a few bridal magazines and page after page would be dog-eared, marking stories of what they envisioned. During meetings, couples would tell me with sincerity that they wanted an event that was “pretty,” “glamorous,” or a thousand other words that were completely subjective and could be interpreted in a myriad of ways. Everything has changed since those days. Now one of the first topics we discuss in meetings with new clients is not only the same dog-eared magazines, but also what they are admiring on shared-image ... More »
