Choosing a makeup style for your big day can be one of the most enjoyable parts of your wedding preparation, especially if you love playing with various lip colors, eye shadows, and beauty looks on a daily basis. In fact, selecting a makeup look for all of your upcoming wedding events – from the bridal shower to the bachelorette party – can be a fun way to show off different parts of your personality, and even complement the décor for each event.

Blushington Makeup & Beauty Lounge, the popular hot spot for makeup applications in West Hollywood, Newport Beach, and Dallas, now offers a mobile makeup lounge called Blush Up. Brides and bridesmaids can get their makeup professionally done from the comfort of home (or your bridal suite) before the big day, or during the bridal shower or bachelorette party for a fun activity. Prices start at just $275 per hour for two hours and $200 for each additional hour; add-on services include faux lash application ($100/hour), airbrushing ($100/hour), and custom goody bags.

For brides who don’t have a Blushington location near them, we spoke with the makeup lounge’s lead celebrity makeup artist Jessica Scantlin, who shared her five tips for achieving the perfect wedding makeup:

1. Keep skin natural and radiant. Since you will have pictures taken on your wedding day, most people will tell you to add more makeup; and while yes, that is true to an extent, you need to still look natural (and not like you are wearing a mask) on your big day.

2. Achieve dewy, rosy cheeks. There is something so classic about a nice, beautiful flush on a bride – it is almost angelic. If you prefer a powder blush, use one with a subtle shimmer such as Bora Bora by Girlactik. If you opt for a cream blush, you don’t need to choose a product with a shimmer since the cream will already provide a nice glow. Stick to the apples of your cheeks, as this is where you naturally blush.

3. Use a translucent powder. This goes back to the 'overly done' makeup look for brides, which is a no! By using a translucent powder, you will take away the shine instead of having to cake on more and more makeup. I love Julie Hewett's loose translucent powder as it gives a beautiful, airbrushed finish.

4. Say 'no' to heavy eye makeup! Ladies, this is your wedding day – not your bachelorette party. With that being said, you can do a smoky eye and still be sexy. Opt for more neutral colors instead of harsh blacks and super thick eyeliner. Also, brides should choose classic trends that will never go out of style… (Don't believe me? Ask your mom how she feels about her bright blue eye shadow in her wedding photos.) By opting for neutral tones, you will save yourself from your kids making a mockery of your wedding images later in life!

5. If you must do a red lip, test it out before your wedding. Why? There is nothing worse than red lipstick all over your face (and teeth) in pictures. Try out numerous stains to see which one really lasts and will stay in place even after kissing your groom. I swear, brides just think, "Oh its a stain, it will last!" Not true. Also, if you’re going with a dark lip, keep your eye makeup simple and add beautiful faux lashes.
