She has provided the soundtrack to many newlyweds’ first dances – including singing for Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding – but now Ellie Goulding has had her own happily ever after! The singer tied the knot in a traditional British ceremony with Casper Jopling, an art dealer, over the weekend.
The bride kept her ceremony look modest for the church service, donning a long-sleeve crepe gown with small appliqués and lace details at the collar. She wore a blusher and cathedral veil over her blonde hair, which was styled in a low updo with the front tendrils framing her face. The groom’s black coat had tails for the formal look, together with a tan waistcoat, grey trousers, and a navy necktie.
Though tradition seemed to be a major aspect of the ceremony, down to the bridesmaids in similar long-sleeve white dresses as was once customary, there was still evidence of playfulness long before the reception began. Ellie arrived at the church with her father in a deep blue Volkswagen bus!
People magazine reports that engaged sweethearts Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom were among the famous friend in attendance, in addition to Sienna Miller with boyfriend Lucas Zwirner and James Blunt with his wife Sofia Wellesley. Though the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were not at the nuptials of their former wedding singer, there was a royal presence at the occasion. Princess Eugenie and her new husband Jack Brooksbank were there to celebrate, and Jack was even a groomsman! Eugenie’s mother Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, was also present for the sweet ceremony.
