Julia Stiles and Preston J. Cook Had a Surprise Wedding!

Surprise! Julia Stiles and Preston J. Cook have apparently been married for weeks. Though Julia’s representative confirmed to People that the pair tied the knot over Labor Day Weekend on a Seattle beach, the actress only shared the news herself recently on her Instagram page. She posted a picture of her baby bump with her and her husband’s hands – now sporting matching rose-gold rings. Playfully referring to the baby on the way, the caption read: “Who doesn’t love a shotgun wedding?” with a couple of choice emojis. Though the picture doesn’t reveal the whole ensemble, Julia wore a cream lace embroidered dress with scalloped details while, judging from the sleeve, Preston wore a classic black suit. The bride embraced the modern trend of mixed metals, pairing her rose gold rings with a silver bangle and a yellow gold chain-link bracelet.

However, the baby – due next month – is certainly not the reason they decided to get married. Preston actually proposed way back on Christmas Eve of 2015, following their courtship after the camera assistant met the actress on a movie set. Julia went to Instagram to spread that happy news as well. “Best Christmas Ever!” read the caption to the picture of their hands clasped together, showing off her ring. She said “yes” while the lovebirds spent the holidays on Isla Grande of the Islas del Rosario off the coast of Colombia. The beautiful round diamond is perfectly framed in an understated, bezel rose gold setting.

In August, the Save the Last Dance star revealed that she is in the third trimester of her pregnancy by posting a mirror selfie of her baby bump stating she “couldn’t resist.” Later that month, she posted about going camping in George, Washington to see a concert at the Gorge Amphitheater. Perhaps it was on that trip that she and her fiancé elected to elope on the coast?
