After a long courtship, Mike Sorrentino – best known as “The Situation” from Jersey Shore – has married his college sweetheart, Lauren Pesce. Naturally, the duo tied the knot in the “Garden State,” but this time they did not celebrate a milestone on the Shore. Instead, the elegant wedding was held at The Legacy Castle near a lake in northern New Jersey. The winter issue of Inside Weddings will feature a celebration held at the same location! US Weekly reports that Mike’s cast members from the MTV franchise were in attendance with their families. Jenni “JWoww” Farley and Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi’s daughters even served as flower girls.
The bride’s look certainly fit the venue, with beautiful lace illusion sleeves and a dramatic cathedral veil, and the groom was classic in an ebony tuxedo. Following their nuptials, the newlyweds released an exclusive statement to Us Weekly: “We are so incredibly excited to begin our journey as husband and wife! We are each other’s best friend and together we can handle anything. Thank you to all our family, friends, and fans who have supported us every step of the way. Gym, Tan, Lauren is the new GTL! With Love, Mr. & Mrs. Michael Sorrentino.”
Admittedly, the couple’s first year of marriage will be a tough one, as Mike is due to serve eight months in prison for a tax evasion conviction by the start of the new year. Yet in a way, the timing is perfect – upon his release, he will have a fresh start as a married man and can rebuild his life alongside Lauren, his loving wife.
