In the contemporary world of pre-wedding events, most folks would say that itineraries have grown significantly in the last decade or so. When it comes to bachelor and bachelorette parties, more and more engaged pairs are forgoing the quieter luncheons, bar-hopping, or at-home get-togethers for livelier events – some that end up spanning over the course of a long weekend. One of the most popular places for wedding parties to meet up is Las Vegas, Nevada, which has a reputation for being on the rowdier side. However, it is entirely possible to design your own vacation in "Sin City" with a little bit of everything that the exciting town has to offer.

You may be under the assumption that the only fun to be had in Vegas occurs after the sun goes down, and while the town is known for its nightlife, there are plenty of fun activities for you and your group to enjoy during the day. Wedding planner Ilana Rosenberg, founder of Ilana Ashley Events, has some helpful hints for the sunnier part of your weekend celebration with your ‘maids or men:

-  Pack for the heat. “Don’t forget different SPF levels of sunscreen! Consider bringing multiple bathing suits with different fits (bandeau, halter, etc.) to prevent bad tan lines. Bring a large beach bag for the day and a clutch for the evenings. Bring a couple pairs of sandals, and of course, don’t forget to pack a selfie stick!”

-  Make a quick run to the store when you arrive. “The airport is an inexpensive cab ride to the strip, and you will pass grocery stores along the way (not on the strip). Ask your cabby to stop on the way before hotel check-in and pick up cases of water, beer/wine/liquor and mixers, and snacks for the room. Hotel rooms are always limited on cups, so don’t forget to pick up some plastic cups to have handy.”

Ilana’s favorite daytime spots:

-  "Relaxing at a cabana at Cosmopolitan Las VegasⓇ,by the pool at Wynn Las Vegas, or at the spa in Encore Las Vegas."

-  "Jamming out to famous DJ Steve Aoki at Wet Republic day club at the MGM Grand."

-  "Shopping at the fun outlet stores off the strip."

Some of our favorite endeavors to be done in the heat of the day include:

-  Soaring over The Strip. If you want to take in a vista of the entire Strip, without boarding a plane or helicopter, consider hopping on the High Roller – the world's tallest observation wheel – at The LINQ Promenade. The structure resembles the famous London Eye, and will transport you and your guests in a spherical cabin – which holds up to 40 people – up and around on a “ferris wheel” journey. They offer a variety of special activities for day and night, including yoga, a chocolate tasting, and a happy hour – 30 minutes of fun with your wedding party enjoying the views and the open bar. It’s truly a unique experience you’ll remember long after your wedding day!

-  Practicing a new skill. What's a great way to blow off some wedding-planning steam? By doing something new and active! Bring out your inner Robin Hood by learning how to shoot a bow and arrow at a local archery range, which offers lessons for you and your friends. Get behind the wheel of an exotic supercar for a few laps around a racetrack. Hit the links on one of the town’s idyllic golf courses for a couple of holes before dinner. Go off-roading in the desert surround Las Vegas on powerful ATVs. Why not use this celebration of your marriage to learn – or perfect – an active new skill?

-  Day-tripping to the Grand Canyon. Arrange for a drive – or even a helicopter flight! – to the beautiful Grand Canyon to soak in one of the nation’s most marvelous natural sites. The canyon itself offers up a plethora of activities from rafting to hiking and beyond, but if you’d prefer to sit back and simply take in the spectacular view, that is perfectly acceptable. Bring along your camera and snap some photos that may one day hang in your marital home!
