To celebrate Independence Day, we're taking a look at some of our favorite weddings that featured a red, white, and/or blue color palette. Whether you choose to incorporate one or all of these colors into your wedding décor, there is something special – and American – about each hue. Take a look at our tips below that offer advice on how best to use the bold, timeless, and traditional wedding colors.

Red: The color red is bold, bright, and fiery. Typically seen in weddings with the use of red roses or on the soles of Christian Louboutin heels, the romantic and sensual hue is perfect for dark winter weddings, alternative celebrations, and refined alfresco ceremonies. Brides who carry a bouquet of red roses can also wear a bright red lip to complement their florals, or add a romantic ambience to your ceremony by sprinkling red flower petals down the aisle runner. We see a lot of red in cultural weddings since the vibrant hue is a customary color for Indian celebrations and Chinese tea ceremonies.

White: Incorporating white into your wedding décor is a choice that will never go out of style. The clean tone creates a fresh feel for an outdoor or indoor celebration, and an airy ambience that will keep guests calm and focused on the true meaning of marriage. Select floral arrangements and bouquets that feature vanilla orchids, peonies, roses, calla lilies, or hydrangea blossoms, and choose elegant white drapery, lounge furniture, or ceremony chair covers to decorate your event space. Brides typically wear white wedding dresses, and many brides love the color so much that they invite their bridesmaids to also don alabaster gowns.

Blue: We've all heard the saying: something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue. Take this tradition a step further to include the cool color in your wedding ensemble and decorations. Bright blue shoes, bridesmaid dresses, and flower girl sashes will give your celebration a burst of color, while choosing blue florals, linens, china, and cakes can make any wedding cool and sophisticated. The relaxing shade is loved by most everyone and ensures wedding guests feel relaxed throughout the festivities.

They even look great together – especially if you're going for a patriotic theme like this Fourth of July welcome party. To see how some of our brides incorporated patriotic red, white, and blue hues into their attire and wedding décor, browse our inspiration photos!
