The first time Marie Lett and Michael LaCassa met their DJ, he told them, “I can tell this is going to be a fun wedding!” Thus, a fabulous evening of festivities was already in motion for the pair, whose main objective when planning their Newport Beach nuptials was to get guests out of their seats and dancing all night long. That sensibility was reflected in the décor with one unforgettable motif: gold glitter. “Every hint of gold glitter I added to something made me feel like it was going to be such a FUN night,” Marie exclaims.

Guests took their seats for the ceremony on chairs facing a romantic gazebo at a gorgeous cliffside resort, which overlooked a sprawling golf course and the Pacific Ocean. Ivory petals lined the aisle, and glass jars filled with arrangements of snowy blooms and purple berries were affixed to white wooden folding chairs. After bridesmaids wearing elegant black gowns and three adorable flower girls made their way down the aisle, Marie arrived, looking ravishing in a fit-and-flare gown with a V-neck and blusher veil. Bullion shoes and a bouquet of lamb’s ear, berries, creamy roses, and calla lilies completed her bridal style.

The black-and-white color scheme of the ceremony was carried over into the reception, held in the resort’s ballroom. Round tables were topped with ebony linens and either tall or short glass vases brimming with gilded leaves and several varieties of vanilla flowers. Chairs were wrapped in ivory and onyx fabric. Dancing, a photo booth, and a beautiful hand-painted gold wedding cake kept guests celebrating the entire evening – and when the reception concluded, the newlyweds headed to the hotel bar with the most dedicated revelers and continued the party. To commemorate the magical night, friends and family were gifted with bullion, black, or white picture frames to display their photo-booth snapshots.

For Marie, the joy and significance of her wedding day was exemplified as she walked toward the aisle with her dad. “I remember pausing, hearing our song, and thinking that all of these wonderful people were here to celebrate our love, and a wave of happiness came over me,” she says. “I was with almost everyone in the world I care for, about to marry the love of my life, and we all got to celebrate that moment together!”
