Alexandra Lippman was thrilled that her New York City bridal shower would take place on a bright spring day. “I’m from LA, so I love the sunshine and being outside,” she remarks. “I was so lucky to have one of those perfect East Coast days on the rooftop of our venue!” Planned by her mother with help from Alyson Fox of Levine Fox Events, the event embodied a “classy take on an NYC ‘brunch party’” and hosted 60 esteemed guests. Décor was kept sophisticated and feminine as the space featured a plethora of yellow pansies and purple blooms potted in various vessels, including rustic wooden buckets, tall candelabra, and metallic vases. Champange-hued linens, white lace runners, and pale blue charger plates bedecked each round table.

Memories of the couple’s relationship could be found scattered throughout the space – photos, meaningful books, and other trinkets accented tablescapes within the centerpieces. Bohemian rugs covered the floor while antique chandeliers were suspended overhead, framing the view of the city skyline just outside the window. “The whole afternoon was full of love and energy, mostly because we substituted a traditional [bridal shower itinerary] with live music from a great band and dancing – and good wine, of course!” muses the bride.

Going into the planning process, Alexandra’s three rules for her mom and event organizer were simple: “no games, no poems, and no gift opening!” the bride stated. Instead, friends and family mingled and enjoyed the company of the afternoon, and as a party favor, each reveler was presented with a custom-made perfume inside a vintage bottle. The bride reveals that her favorite addition came in the form of a uniquely served dessert. “At the end of my shower, I was surprised with these hysterical cotton candy heads. Basically, they were mannequin heads wearing earrings and hair made of yellow cotton candy – I’d never seen that before!” she exclaims. To wrap up the idyllic day, Alexandra’s fiancé made a surprise appearance to bring his beloved a bouquet of flowers. “I loved every minute of my shower!” beams the bride.
