Doing something against the grain is scary when you have nothing to inspire your vision – offbeat brides, fear not! “I’ve always had a love for copper and bronze and wanted to feature the combination in a luxurious way, but copper isn’t used very often in weddings,” shares Colette Goodman of Beautiful Mountain Events. Explaining that modern brides tend to gravitate toward gold and silver, she desired to showcase a wider variety of metals in a wedding styled shoot planned for fall. “I wanted to show brides that, not only is it okay to use other metallic colors, but to mix metallic colors as well,” Colette adds. With this thought in mind, she gathered close wedding professionals and set up the shoot highlighting the bold color palette she’d chosen.

A model – sporting a wine-hued gown with capped sleeves clasped a bouquet made up of an array of yellow and purple blooms with accents of autumn leaves, small fruits, and greenery – twirled on the open dance floor. Following her bridesmaid look, the model changed into a striking ivory wedding gown featuring a strapless bodice, textured fabric, and a feathered skirt, giving the ensemble a modern feel with a hint of vintage charm. The bride’s hair was done up in a simple and tasteful bun resting low on the side of her head. 

For the tablescape, Colette brought in a linen with an intricate pattern of rose gold sequins to bedeck the long table. Atop it stood long glass vases housing marsala blossoms spilling out over the sides: roses, hydrangeas, and other fall-toned accents complemented the deep scheme of the shoot. Each place setting was characterized by sparkling charger plates that expertly matched the overall motif. “Our concept was mixed metals using copper, bronze, rose gold, and silver to create a luxe feel,” says Colette. Adding to the modern vibe, geometric configurations, votives in varying heights, and metallic pineapple figurines lined the table. For the finishing touch, a four-tier confection displaying alternating layers of copper and ivory acted as the focal point.
