Meagan Medick admits she should have had a better instinct that this was not a normal walk to the ballpark when her boyfriend Kasey Ourada asked her, “Are you sure you don’t want to do your makeup before we go?” The couple lived only a block away from Petco Park where the San Diego Padres play, so the pair attended often. “We loved walking over, sitting in the sun, decompressing, and catching up. The baseball games always seemed like our time to be a couple,” shares Meagan. On this special day, Kasey walked with her to the top of a grassy hill, got down on one knee, and popped the question.

Once they settled on a date, Meagan and Kasey found that finalizing the guest list was very stressful. “This was by far the hardest part! I won’t miss it,” laughs the bride. The other aspects of the planning were enjoyable, especially since Meagan had a great team, including her mom, sister-in-law, and wedding planner Andrea Eppolito of Andrea Eppolito Events. “Kasey was always very willing and interested, but I was really into taking over the majority of the work and decisions. His job was to pick the band, and he did an amazing job,” explains Meagan of their seamless process.

Though the groom initially wanted to marry at the beach, the bride had her heart set on her hometown of Las Vegas. “I didn’t want to be outside, since who can control the elements!” she emphasizes. In the end, convenience was the deciding factor. “We really wanted a location that was easy for our guests to get to, a destination people would want to visit, and a place our guests would party!” Meagan shares.

The bold, all-white wedding ceremony was held in the ballroom of a luxury hotel. Meagan playfully admits that her biggest fear was committing to a color. “Things change, trends change, and I want to look back in 50 years and see that my wedding still looks classic. So no color at all! I didn’t even want green showing in my florals.” As 200 loved ones arrived for the black-tie event, they found themselves inside a breathtaking space fully bedecked in crisp, clean bright white décor. The aisle was meticulously lined in frothy arrangements of blooms, while a large monochromatic floral structure designated the spot for the “I dos.”

Meagan was a vision. “Seeing her walk down the aisle towards me was incredible,” remembers the groom. She wore a fitted, strapless gown with lace embellishments and carried a snowy bouquet of fresh flowers. Her bridesmaids also wore white to help emphasize the theme.

During the vow exchange, Meagan took time to insert some humor. “My wife thinks she is a comedian, so she basically roasted me. It was actually really funny and kept it light,” muses the groom. “People were coming up to us after saying that was the funniest ceremony they had ever attended.”

“The day was all of my dreams come true times 1,000... It was designed and executed to perfection.”

As guests shifted to the reception, they were first asked to participate in an unexpected patriotic act before sitting for dinner. The band began to sing the national anthem on stage, beside an American flag that had been placed there. “Everyone was cheering and high-fiving the entire time,” adds the bride of the unique moment. “The idea came to us one day at a Padres game!

Sleek white serpentine tables and huge alabaster trees (as a nod to the groom’s wish to wed outdoors) were arranged in artfully crafted patterns. In order to achieve the elevated look she envisioned, Meagan decided to exclude tablecloths and have no linens. “[That choice] made the room look more balanced and high-end,” she illustrates. Tall, impressive centerpieces adorned tables, as well as glass candelabras, which helped to set the mood. “I wanted our guests to walk in and really be blown away. When I walked in, my heart stopped,” admits the bride.

“The day was all of my dreams come true times 1,000... It was designed and executed to perfection,” says the bride, who hugely credits her wedding planner. “I can’t tell brides enough how important it is to hire a wedding planner. Pick the person you connect with the most, who will have your back, and who shares your vision.” She adds, “Andrea was worth every penny and more –she’s priceless.”

Once the night ended, the newlyweds were thrilled with how their nuptials turned out; neither of them wishing to change a single thing. The new Mrs. emphasizes: “You have to go for it; it’s your one day!”
