Alexa Presto and Jack Ramirez embraced the timeless romance of New York City for their winter wedding, choosing the iconic Cipriani 25 Broadway as the backdrop for a celebration rooted in classic style and elevated drama.
From the moment guests entered the landmark space, the couple’s vision was unmistakable: an evening that felt both architectural and full of impressive details, where every design element interacted with the storied grandeur of the building.
The ceremony set the tone with an unforgettable sense of romance using moody lighting. A reflective mirrored aisle stretched through the center of the historic hall, bordered by hundreds of glowing candles arranged in meticulous rows. Their soft illumination bounced across the mirrored surface, creating a liquid-like path of light that guided guests’ eyes toward the towering columns and sculpted ceiling.
Black chairs flanked the aisle, their modern silhouette juxtaposed against the venue’s old-world details. At the end of the walkway, groupings of mirrored plinths held candles at varying heights, forming a structured, minimalist altar. The result was a ceremony environment that felt warm yet striking – a perfect blend of what the couple envisioned for their big day.
As guests moved into cocktail hour, they were greeted by one of the celebration’s most memorable design moments: a custom newsstand installation inspired by classic New York City kiosks. Stacks of personalized newspapers announcing “Alexa & Jack Tie the Knot” created a playful, editorial-style vignette that blended perfectly with the couple’s Manhattan setting. Surrounded by sculptural dark calla lilies displayed in modern black vases, the newsstand setup created a stylish nod to city life.
“We wouldn’t change anything about our wedding. It was the best day.”
When the reception doors opened, the scene was transformed. Alexa and Jack introduced a burst of color and whimsy through dramatic fuchsia fringe chandeliers suspended above the long banquet tables. Their sweeping, tiered silhouette added movement and texture, cascading overhead in harmony with the ornate ceiling of the venue. The chandeliers cast a warm, dimensional glow across the tables, creating a richly layered setting for the wow-worthy tablescapes.
The tables themselves were dressed in deep, textured linens that shimmered under candlelight. Sleek glassware, polished flatware, and refined place settings tied the design together, accented by burgundy napkins wrapped in chic black ribbon. Low arrangements of near-black calla lilies added sculptural elegance, while dozens of glass cylinders in varying heights ran the length of each table, filling the room with a sea of flickering light.
Throughout the evening, the interplay of reflection, color, and candlelight defined the celebration’s aesthetic. Mirrored surfaces – from the ceremony aisle to the elevated candle displays – amplified classic sophistication, while the fuchsia chandeliers introduced an unexpected, contemporary edge. The palette remained sophisticated and cohesive: deep blacks, moody burgundies, clean glass, and warm candlelit neutrals against one of New York’s most dramatic architectural canvases.
As dinner transitioned into dancing, the room felt increasingly immersive, with each design layer contributing to a sense of modern glamour. The chandeliers swayed subtly overhead, the candles continued to ripple across the reflective surfaces, and the historic space took on the character of a grand, moody ballroom infused with the couple’s signature style.
By the end of the night, Alexa and Jack had achieved what they envisioned from the start: a New York City wedding that honored the architecture and legacy of their wedding venue, while infusing it with bold, contemporary elements. The result was a celebration that felt deeply personal, impeccably curated, and utterly unforgettable.
