Nadine Desruisseaux had recently moved from French-speaking Quebec to Toronto, but boldly chose to interview for a publicist job while still learning English. Fabrice Taylor conducted the interview, and it wasn’t long before they were in love. Nadine loves New Year’s Eve, particularly the final countdown. Shortly before midnight, Fabrice asked his beloved to get the Champagne bucket. She returned to find him on bended knee. “My heart stopped when I saw the Tiffany box,” the bride reveals.

As the majority of family members of both the bride and the groom still reside in Quebec, Montreal was chosen as the most convenient destination for the nuptials – held eight months later. While some brides might not consider that to be enough time to plan the big day, Nadine had no worries thanks to the help of Kim Buckland at KA Mariage. “She told me, ‘Relax, I am in charge,’” explains the bride. The tone of the day was set with chic Ceci New York invitations, which featured white text on high-quality black paper.

Though the ceremony started a little late due to Nadine and Fabrice enjoying a final cocktail as an engaged couple together, it was worth the wait. The groom was joined by two groomsmen, as well as his son, and the bride was preceded down the aisle by her maid of honor, bridesman, and her two daughters who would go on to play the violin throughout the ceremony. Arm-in-arm with her father, Nadine stunned in her lace mermaid gown from the legendary Kleinfeld Bridal. Her dramatic bouquet of red roses and Black Forest calla lilies, paired with Fabrice’s purple orchid boutonniere, gave guests a hint of the vibrant florals to come at the reception.

King’s tables lined the outside of the dance floor and were decorated with small arrangements of red roses and candles, interspersed with tall centerpieces filled with red, pink, purple, and green blossoms. The drama was heightened by the performance of aerial acrobats. One such entertainer even served guests Champagne while she was suspended above their heads. “The whole wedding was unique, and I am so proud of it!” Nadine exclaims.
