When planning their nuptials, Julianna Myszak and David Luper were incredibly grateful to have Julianna’s mother along every step of the way. “She was absolutely amazing! As a wedding photographer herself, she knew how to make the day just perfect,” affirms the bride.

Together, they selected a beautiful estate venue with stunning grounds, as well as a team of wedding professionals that would make the intimate September celebration absolutely perfect. Playing off the beauty of their French-style château venue, Julianna and David selected a European garden theme for their late-summer soirée.

“We wanted our day to have a summer garden feel,” notes the bride of the design, which complemented the manor. Some florals were pulled from the onsite gardens, and they also incorporated butterfly details to create a whimsical style. “Ever since I was a little girl, my mom called me her little butterfly, so we incorporated sweet butterfly appliqués on various elements throughout the day,” shares Julianna.

Before the ceremony, Julianna and David met at the bottom of the grand staircase for their first look and to say their private vows to one another. “It was the best part of the day,” smiles Julianna, who donned an elegant lace wedding dress with long sleeves.

Guests were offered parasols for shade as they were seated facing the ivy-covered façade of the manor. Julianna was led by her father and five-year-old son down the aisle, which had been lined with groupings of lively blooms in vanilla, apricot, and rosy tones, for the heartfelt ceremony.

Following the vow exchange, friends and family enjoyed sparkling rosé before finding their seats for the alfresco reception – a rarity for a wedding in the Midwest. “The day was perfect, so enjoying the weather was such a blessing,” notes the bride.

Upholstered cane-back chairs surrounded long, rectangular tables covered in sage linens. Bistro lights twinkled overhead as friends and family dined at garden-inspired tablescapes showcasing billowing blooms, varying silver and wood candleholders, and charming place settings with blush and butterfly accents.

Among the couple’s favorite memories of the day was their first dance to “I Get to Love You” by Ruelle on the stone patio. “The stress had all melted away, and I could see our family and friends wiping away tears. Birds were chirping and the sun was shining… It was magical,” remembers Julianna.

The rest of the night was celebrating with their nearest and dearest, as well as enjoying slices of not one, but two white wedding cakes adorned with edible pink rice-paper butterflies cascading down the side. “It was my favorite detail!” confirms the bride of the sweet ending to their picture-perfect day.
