Whether you're the one who will be saying "I do" or you'll be standing beside your best friend as a bridesmaid, it's important to look and feel your best by the time the wedding day arrives. The best way to do this is to start preparing your body, skin, and mind in the months leading up to the big day – as opposed to trying to implement healthy habits just days or weeks before.

For some women, prepping for the wedding includes a starting workout plan to tone muscles, going on a diet to promote weight loss, or practicing yoga or meditation to ease the mind and eliminate stress. Whatever your preparation schedule may entail, the most important thing is that you do everything in moderation. Workout, but make sure you're replenishing those calories lost with nutritious food that will help you feel just as good as you look. Diet if you wish, but don't deprive yourself. Stay zen, but don't forget to keep a schedule and attend your wedding-related appointments.

To receive more advice on what to do leading up to the wedding, we asked Kimberly Snyder, nutritionist and New York Times best-selling author of the Beauty Detox book series and Radical Beauty, to share her healthy tips for brides and bridesmaids!

1. Drink a Glowing Green Smoothie
To have the most radiant, glowing skin you can ever imagine, the most important thing to eat leading up to your wedding would be plenty of leafy greens filled with valuable nutrients. Try the Glowing Green Smoothie, which you can drink every morning.

2. Cut Out Dairy
In the weeks leading up to your wedding, you should really consider cutting down on certain foods to ensure you feel your best on your big day. I highly recommend cutting out dairy, which is difficult for most everyone to digest in varying ways and can lead to bloating and digestive distress.

3. Cut Out Refined Sugar
Try cutting out refined sugar and agave, as they accelerate aging, free-radical damage, and the stiffening of collagen, which can create wrinkles. Your skin will look more bright and fresh.

4. Cut Back on Alcohol
It’s also a good idea to cut back on alcohol, which is dehydrating and depletes beauty vitamins and minerals. If you do want some alcohol here or there to celebrate, I recommend red wine, as it is high in antioxidants and not as hard on the liver compared to other forms of alcohol.

5. Drink Lemon Water
Add fresh lemon juice to your water throughout the day, and be sure to start every morning with a mug of hot water with lemon! Lemon aids with digestion by increasing the secretion of bile from the liver, while also acting as a strengthening agent to the liver’s enzymes. Lemon also supports digestion in the colon, promoting the elimination of waste more efficiently and regularly. It also acts as a blood purifier and as a cleansing agent to flush out bacteria and toxins in the body. These properties in aiding digestion also make it helpful in long-term cleansing.

6. Take a Probiotic
Beauty is rooted in gut health, so you really want to get your gut in order before your big day! The right kinds of probiotics are a powerful combination that promote beauty, improving your digestion, and leading significant improvements in your overall health, wellness, and beauty. I am a big fan of soil-based organism (SBO) probiotics, which mimic the natural beneficial bacteria found in soil that our ancestors used to ingest in small amounts on unwashed veggies from the garden.

7. Relax
To help manage potential pre-wedding jitters, you can practice meditation or yoga, enjoy quiet and solitude, listen to relaxing music, go for a walk, or work out.
