If you're looking for color inspiration for your wedding events, we always love to look to the Pantone Color of the Year for ideas! The 2023 color is a bold magenta hue, which will be a favorite for many couples!
For over 20 years, the Pantone Color Institute has selected the "Color of the Year" – meant to be a symbol of the new year to come. The 2023 Color of the Year has been announced as Viva Magenta. Chosen to convey an expressive signal of strength, the hue is brave, fearless, joyous, and optimistic – a perfect sentiment for a wedding rooted in love and passion.
"In this age of technology, we look to draw inspiration from nature and what is real. PANTONE 18-1750 Viva Magenta descends from the red family, and is inspired by the red of cochineal, one of the most precious dyes belonging to the natural dye family as well as one of the strongest and brightest the world has known... Invoking the forces of nature, PANTONE 18-1750 Viva Magenta galvanizes our spirit, helping us to build our inner strength," executive director Leatrice Eiseman shares of the new color selection for this year.
If you're still undecided on a design scheme for your wedding day, incorporating magenta, burgundy, and deep red tones into your color palette can work well for celebrations in any season. Especially fitting for elegant, moody fall fêtes and bold winter soirées, there are a number of ways to utilize this vibrant yet romantic tone throughout the ceremony and reception. While red weddings have been seen numerous times over the years, we'll likely see even more with this new announcement from the Pantone Color Institute. We can't wait to see the unique ways couples incorporate this color in their design, whether for pre-wedding events or the big day!
