How 5 Grooms Knew They'd Found "The One"

We here at IW love all aspects of a wedding, from the florals to the décor and everything in between. But one of our favorite pleasures is learning more about the lovely couples we feature. After all, if it weren't for fate bringing two people together, there would be no cause to celebrate in the first place. So, we asked five of our grooms when they knew they were ready to propose. We're excited to share their answers with you. These guys will melt your hearts and make you believe in true love all over again!

"In February 2009, I realized I was ready to propose to Natalie. Every year, I would travel with my college buddies to whatever city was hosting the NBA All-Star Weekend. In 2009, the host city was Phoenix, but the weekend happened to fall on Valentine’s Day. I was planning not to attend, but Natalie knew this was an annual tradition for the guys and really encouraged me to go. The entire weekend I could not get her off my mind and I remember the final morning at breakfast I told my buddies I would propose to Natalie in the coming months. My buddies were all excited and gave me their blessing and that was the weekend I knew I was ready to propose to Natalie." - Daniel Gould

"When I couldn’t think of living without her. We spent about a year traveling back and forth between Washington DC and NYC, and every time it became harder to leave her! At one point, I realized how much better I felt when she was by my side, and that was it!" - Guy Filippelli

"We were on a long road trip and instead of complaining or being bored, we ended up making each other laugh for hours. I knew at that moment, together we could find the fun in any situation." - Pete Muscarella
