For 20 years, the Pantone Color Institute has selected the "Color of the Year" – meant to be a symbol of the new year to come. The 2019 Color of the Year has been announced as Living Coral. Chosen for its animating and life-affirming hue, the golden undertone is said to be energizing and enlivening. The Pantone Color Institute describes the shade as embracing people with warmth and nourishment to provide comfort in our continually shifting environment.

Symbolizing optimism, joy, and playfulness, coral would make an excellent accent color for weddings – especially those in the spring or summer months. Though similar shades of blush and pink are popular in today's nuptials, we're sure that this announcement will allow us to see even more bright coral color palettes for celebrations taking place in the coming year. For brides and grooms who wish to incorporate this hue into their fête, a number of blooms come in shades of coral – calla lilies, peonies, dahlias, hydrangeas, garden roses, snapdragons, orchids, and more, and the color can also be incorporated in paper goods, linens, bridesmaid dresses, and additional décor.
