Though Adam Schur tried to get Alyx Goldstein’s attention in high school, it wasn’t until college when they matched on a dating app that their relationship began. “She had this effortless charm and a laugh that was completely contagious. Even back then, she stood out in the best possible way – someone you couldn’t help but notice, even if she didn’t realize it herself,” describes Adam. “Fate had its way of bringing us together.”
Adam knew Alyx was The One right away; however, he waited until they were on a trip with Alyx’s family in Antigua to ask her father for his blessing and decided to propose while vacationing in Vail, Colorado. “I couldn’t have dreamed of a more perfect proposal,” confides Alyx. When the betrothed returned home, they began planning their nuptials and hired Victoria Dubin Events to bring their dream wedding to life.
As they reside in New York City, the couple envisioned saying “I do” in the Hamptons, selecting an art museum that “was the perfect canvas for our dream wedding,” shares Alyx. When deciding upon a theme, the bride was inspired by a single hue. “Yellow is the color of sunshine, warmth, and endless energy – the very essence of what my husband brings into my life,” she explains of her vision. “My dream was for our wedding day to reflect the glow of happiness that fills the spaces between us.”
Thus, the ceremony set the tone she wished to evoke right away. Over 250 loved ones found their seats for the Jewish ceremony beneath an open-sided canopy embellished with fresh greenery, fragrant yellow blooms, and sparkling chandeliers. The bride was radiant in a sleek strapless Sareh Nouri gown from Wedding Atelier, and she clutched a bouquet of calla lilies in yellow and white as she made her way down the aisle. “Watching her take those steps toward me was a moment I’ll never forget. It was emotional, beautiful, and everything I’d dreamed,” smiles Adam.

Once Alyx and Adam were pronounced husband and wife, attendees made their way into the museum for cocktail hour as servers offered a choice of tray-passed champagne, wine, and cocktails to start the party right away. Guests found their table assignments calligraphed on sophisticated escort cards arranged on a glass table adorned with tall floral arrangements in shades of purple and blue with accents of greenery, introducing the colorful décor to come in the vast reception space.
“Our reception was transformed into a magical floral wonderland with vibrant arrangements in purples, pinks, and blues,” muses the bride. Whimsical blossoms decorated tablescapes and were suspended gracefully overhead, creating a cascading canopy of blooms that enveloped the entire space.
“The stunning flowers added an air of romance and elegance, leaving our guests in awe of the enchanting atmosphere,” affirms Alyx. Mirrored chairs and tables reflected centerpieces, and each place setting highlighted blue-and-gold china and blush-toned glassware to complete the exquisite look.
Prior to dancing the night away, friends and family enjoyed “The Schur-gar Lounge” featuring a wedding cake embellished with florals inspired by the blooms surrounding the venue, as well as a decadent dessert table displayed in front of a garden-inspired flower wall.
“Every detail was unbelievable. We had perfect weather; the food was amazing; the music was perfect; the venue looked incredible. Everything about our wedding day was truly spectacular,” says Adam. “Having all of our favorite people in one room, celebrating together, was incredibly special and something I’ll always cherish.” Alyx confirms, “Everything was perfect!”
