While swiping on a dating app with her best friend and eventual co-maid of honor, Breanna Moret came across Spencer Schloss’ profile. As fate would have it, her friend worked with Spencer and immediately vouched for him. Moments later, one of his best friends appeared at the same bar, offering yet another glowing endorsement. “I knew then we had to meet,” remembers Bre. After a few days of messaging, Bre handed over her number, and when Spencer still didn’t set a date, she did it herself. “So basically, it’s all thanks to me,” she laughs. A three-hour first date sealed the deal, and they’ve been together ever since.

Six years later, Spencer proposed at a Downtown Los Angeles hotel with a photographer capturing every moment, and then led Bre to a room transformed by their friends with candles, rose petals, and mementos from their years together. After celebrating in Europe, they turned their focus to planning a destination wedding in Riviera Maya. “We love Mexico, the culture, and the people, and we feel like there’s a vibe the second you enter the country,” shares Bre. “We really wanted to take that feeling and bring it to the wedding for a great, relaxing, fun weekend for everyone.” Their guiding principle was simple: “good food, good drinks, and good music.”

Guests were transported through the jungle to a secluded stretch of sand overlooking turquoise waters and greeted with welcome cocktails and a tropical palette inspired by palm trees and sunsets. Bre designed the monogram, menus, and stationery herself – including a 24-page wedding-zine filled with photo collages of guests, tributes to their late grandparents – favorite movies and even a family gumbo recipe, and more. “We’ve been together so long and we have the best family and friends who play an important part of our love story, so we wanted to honor that,” she shares.

“We love Mexico, the culture, and the people, and we feel like there’s a vibe the second you enter the country. We really wanted to take that feeling and bring it to the wedding for a great, relaxing, fun weekend for everyone.”

For the beach ceremony, Bre walked herself down the aisle. “It might not be traditional, but it felt right – standing as myself, a woman in her thirties with real experience and a clear understanding of commitment, choosing to begin this next chapter on my own terms,” she reflects. Framed by vibrant florals and the Caribbean Sea, they were married by a dear friend and exchanged heartfelt, funny, and personalized vows.

Golden-hour cocktails followed, with playful details like custom stirrers showcasing the couple’s dog Eugene and napkins printed with notes they’d written each other over the years in their own handwriting. Dinner tables – named after notable bars and restaurants, such as where they had their first date and where they spend most of their weekends – showcased lush centerpieces in vivid pinks, peaches, purples, yellows, and greens. At each guest’s place setting, a personalized, handwritten letter was sealed in an envelope – an intimate, sentimental touch and a testament to the kind, thoughtful nature of the couple.

Guests enjoyed crème brûlée or brownies for dessert, as well as late-night tacos and churros to keep their energy up for a night of dancing. Then came one of the most unforgettable surprises: Bre re-entered the reception singing “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You” by Frankie Valli dressed as the Oregon Ducks mascot in honor of Spencer’s beloved alma mater. “Everyone, but especially Spencer, was shocked. It was the funniest moment of my life,” the bride confirms. Everyone was singing along and dancing, taking turns putting on the Duck head – a dream come true for the groom who “truly bleeds green,” smiles Bre.

From start to finish, the weekend was a perfect reflection of Bre and Spencer’s love story. “Because we’ve been together for eight years, we felt like this wedding wasn’t just about us officially joining in marriage. It was really a celebration for the love we have for each other and the love we have for everyone else in our lives,” affirms the bride of the joyful weekend.
