When Julia Gojlewicz first learned that Wilson Mandel Petricig was interested in meeting her, she didn’t realize just how meaningful the introduction would become. “My cousin, who married Will’s childhood friend from Palm Beach Day Academy, sent me a video of Will saying he wanted to take me on a date,” she shares. “I didn’t take him too seriously at first, but the moment we met and locked eyes, I was completely smitten.” What began as a friendship quickly deepened. “After our first date, we were inseparable. I still remember thinking, wow… this is it.”

The couple’s love story led to a romantic proposal. “He arranged a surprise four-course dinner with wine pairings on our private bungalow patio overlooking the ocean,” Julia recalls. “The setting was so romantic – the sound of the waves, the candlelight, and the fact that his birthday was the next day made it all feel extra special and perfectly us.”

After a year-long engagement, the couple exchanged vows in Palm Beach, Florida, where they met, built a life together, and where Wilson grew up. With 120 guests in attendance, the day reflected their shared life together and their families. “Both of our moms played a huge role and helped us every step of the way,” she says.

The ceremony began at 4PM, blending meaningful traditions from both sides. “My husband is Jewish and I grew up Christian, so it was really meaningful to us to blend both of our traditions into the ceremony,” Julia shares. The couple signed the ketubah, and in a lighthearted moment, “Wilson smashed the glass, after missing it on the first try, which made everyone laugh.” The celebration continued with joyful energy. In keeping with Jewish tradition, “We were surprised with being lifted in chairs during the hora, which ended up being one of our favorite memories.”

Throughout the planning process, the couple remained focused on creating an atmosphere that felt timeless and elegant. “We knew from the beginning that we wanted a timeless, all-white wedding with soft hints of blue,” Julia explains of their vision. While the ceremony featured an entirely white palette, the cocktail hour introduced subtle blue accents before the reception returned to a clean, all-white aesthetic. “Everything turned out absolutely gorgeous and exactly how we imagined it,” the bride adds.

Florals played a central role in achieving the couple’s desired aesthetic. “Our centerpieces were breathtaking, overflowing arrangements of all-white florals that brought an elevated, romantic feel to the room,” Julia shares. Arrangements of roses, hydrangeas, orchids, and delicate blooms filled tall, crystal-clear vases, while candlelight reflected off surrounding glassware to create a soft, ethereal glow. Paired with white linens, blue-and-white floral-printed napkins topped charger plates to add “the perfect subtle hint of color,” resulting in what Julia describes as “an all-white dream with just a whisper of blue.”

Wedding guests were treated to a thoughtfully curated seated dinner from Café Boulud, esteemed French chef Daniel Boulud’s restaurant, that reflected the couple’s personal tastes, with tweaks to make everything even more delicious. “Our menu was filled with dishes that truly mean something to us,” Julia says. Dinner began with hamachi crudo, followed by a choice of grilled heritage chicken or prime filet, and concluded with key lime meringue and a vanilla-raspberry wedding cake. “It all felt thoughtful, elegant, and very much a reflection of our taste as a couple,” Julia adds.

Of course, personalized elements were woven throughout the celebration. The couple even wrote their own vows – “They were very specific to our relationship, including small details from when we first met and our first New Year’s kiss,” Julia shares. She also walked down the aisle with both her mother and stepfather, who has since sadly passed away, and the ceremony featured a live violinist for an intimate, timeless feel. “I am forever grateful that hew as able to share that moment with me, and I miss him dearly,” adds Julia. Later in the evening, the couple’s choreographed first dance, which they practiced for weeks, became one of the most memorable moments. “It felt like time slowed down and it was just the two of us,” the bride muses.

Among the most unique elements of the wedding were the carefully curated details that reflected both the couple’s design scheme and their ties to Palm Beach. Loved ones received custom favors created by artist Nancy G. Walker. “They were thoughtful, local, and truly special to give,” Julia notes. The celebration also featured a dynamic entertainment experience, including a live violinist, saxophone player, band, and DJ – creating what the couple describes as a layered and immersive atmosphere.

Despite the grandeur of the day, it was the quiet, meaningful moments that left the greatest impression. “Our most memorable moments were saying our vows and our first dance,” Julia shares. Reflecting on their dream wedding day, the bride emphasizes the importance of presence. “At some point during the night, pause and look around the room. Everyone you love is there, celebrating you, and that exact moment will never happen again,” she smiles.
