New year, new weddings: that’s our motto! 2017 is shaping up to be a fabulous year for nuptials and we’re looking forward to being inspired by innovative décor, design, and fashion. The start of the new year symbolizes new beginnings, which we at Inside Weddings see as new engagements. There are a variety of celebrities boasting serious relationships as we enter 2017, and we believe these eight couples are bound to be affianced by the end of December!
Lena Dunham & Jack Antonoff
The creator and star of Girls and the Bleachers front man have been dating for several years. Though celebrities often marry a little later in life than the common folk, this low-key couple may soon be ready to settle down and make it official. If they do, we anticipate a hip, shabby-chic wedding with ensembles created by the groom’s sister, Rachel Antonoff, a fashion designer.
Rose Leslie & Kit Harington
Years after meeting on Game of Thrones, the former onscreen couple has continued to spend time together after the cameras were off. Though the Scottish actress now lives in her beau’s hometown of London, we could see the pair choose to tie the knot in Iceland, where they fell in love filming the hit show. Then they're sure to want to honeymoon in a tropical location after the time they have spent in the snow.
Katy Perry & Orlando Bloom
Forget the award-winning movies and TV shows – the real story after the 2016 Golden Globes was the flirtation between the British actor and pop superstar. Despite rumors of splitting just before Thanksgiving, the lovely couple appears to be going strong; having reently spent the New Year together in Tokyo. We’d be willing to bet the singer will rock a large pink diamond on her left hand before the year is out.
Lupita Nyong’o & Mobolaji Dawodu
Though they only went public with their relationship last summer, the Academy Award-winning actress has been dating the fashion editor of GQ Style for close to a year. If and when they do get married, the fashionistas are sure to have a chic and modern soirée to celebrate their vow exchange. Considering her history on the red carpet, we’re sure the bride will stun in a gorgeous bridal gown.
Amy Schumer & Ben Hanisch
Though the popular comedian only began dating the furniture creator about a year ago, things seem to be serious. On their one-year anniversary, Ben posted a snapshot of the two of them to Instagram stating that he “knew [he] wanted to spend his life with her.” If these two do get hitched, we foresee a smaller, more intimate affair in New York – but we’re sure they’ll be plenty of social media posts throughout the day.
Adele & Simon Konecki
The famed singer and the charity CEO have been an item for over five years – introduced by fellow crooner Ed Sheeran – and have a four-year-old son together. Both Adele and Simon still seem crazy about one another, and they’re quite private, which is typically a positive sign for celebrity relationships. Should they eventually marry, we’re hoping for a countryside wedding, whether it be in the UK or the US.
Olivia Munn & Aaron Rodgers
Despite the rumor mill churning out break-up predictions, we believe this power couple – dating since 2014 – will only get stronger this year. Aaron’s family life and reported feud with his parents and brother Jordan, who was given the final rose on the last season of The Bachelorette, have taken center stage recently, but we think the actress and Green Bay Packers quarterback will pull through. Who wouldn’t want to see this duo’s soft and romantic wedding?
Irina Shayk & Bradley Cooper
What an announcement! A few months ago, Russian model Irina Shayk made her runway debut at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show only to reveal hours later that she is expecting a child with boyfriend, actor Bradley Cooper, whom she’s been dating for about two years. Though they may already be secretly engaged, we hope they’ll reveal their intentions to the public soon. For these lovebirds, we predict a gorgeous destination event, full of sun, sand, and love!
