Brides who want to feel like a princess on their wedding day should look to bridal designer Romona Keveža. Not only are her designs stunning and timeless, but she has also thrice created dresses that anticipated the gowns worn at royal (or royal adjacent) weddings in recent years. If you choose one of her dresses for your big day, there’s a chance that you’ll soon see an actual princess wearing a similar design for her own nuptials!
When Charlene Wittstock, the Princess of Monaco, was wed in 2011, she wore a lovely gown reminiscent of a design by Romona Keveža. Both dresses were silk with an off-the-shoulder, twisted neckline, though Charlene’s was further accented with mother-of-pearl embroidery. Courtesy of Romona Keveža
Before Kate Middleton married Prince William, Romona Keveža designed a bridal gown with the princess-to-be as her muse. The romantic dress had an A-line skirt with a lace illusion neckline and Chantilly lace sleeves. If the design sounds familiar, that’s because when the bride stepped out of the carriage for the wedding of the century, her gown – that would be imitated for years – had similar elements to the look Romona Keveža had already created with the future queen in mind. Though Pippa Middleton is not technically royalty herself, she became a public figure while serving as her sister Kate Middleton’s maid of honor. Everyone was dying to know what she would wear to her wedding to James Matthews, but it turned out to be similar to a style from Romona Keveža’s LEGENDS collection. Unlike Pippa’s stunning dress, the lace top on the LEGENDS design is removable, allowing brides to be covered for the ceremony and switch to a strapless sweetheart neckline for the reception. “Predicting the three royal wedding dresses of Kate Middleton, Charlene Wittstock and Pippa Middleton was quite simple because Legends Romona Keveža is all about mixing and matching pieces, allowing brides to be their own bride, and be their own legend," affirms the designer.
