The search for “the one” can be a daunting task. Of course, in the world of weddings, “the one” can be in reference to both your beloved future spouse and a bridal gown. Selecting your day-of dress can be incredibly magical – however, it can also present a number of challenges. If you go into your first appointment with a very specific vision only to discover you don’t like the style you’ve selected as much as you thought, it can be disheartening. On the opposite end of the spectrum, entering the salon with little to no idea of what you’re looking for can drag out the process and create unnecessary stress to rush a decision.

The key is to enter into your gown appointments with direction, but also with a willingness to expand your horizons just a little. One of the aspects of which you can pre-select is the type of necklines you desire. If you’re looking for something classic, perhaps a bateau or boat-neck gown would be a good fit. However, if you’re looking for a design with a bit more drama and skin, a V-neckline is an idyllic choice. This bold style is popular with contemporary brides for it’s plunging nature – it’s a tasteful way to show off your décolletage for your special day. For examples, scroll through the ensembles below – all worn by real brides. Be sure to click on each photo for further inspiration!
