For over 25 years, the Pantone Color Institute has selected the "Color of the Year" – meant to be a symbol of the new year to come. The 2026 Color of the Year has been announced as Cloud Dancer.
Selected because of its "symbol of calming influence in a society rediscovering the value of quiet reflection" – a special sentiment as you slow down and choose intentionality when planning your nuptials – the Pantone Color Institute describes the hue as "a billowy white imbued with serenity, PANTONE 11-4201 Cloud Dancer encourages true relaxation and focus, allowing the mind to wander and creativity to breathe, making room for innovation."
"At this time of transformation, when we are reimagining our future and our place in the world, PANTONE 11-4201 Cloud Dancer is a discrete white hue offering a promise of clarity," shares Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director at the Pantone Color Institute. "The cacophony that surrounds us has become overwhelming, making it harder to hear the voices of our inner selves. A conscious statement of simplification, Cloud Dancer enhances our focus, providing release from the distraction of external influences."
As the Pantone Color of the Year is certainly in its bridal era, couples will have no problem at all incorporating the calming, creamy tone into their color palette for wedding celebrations in any season. Whether used as a strong foundation or simply as a touch of classic white in an otherwise pastel or vibrant design scheme, Cloud Dancer is sure to be a favorite among 2026 brides.
