One month before Megan Goll walked down the aisle, she celebrated with 50 friends and relatives at a lovely bridal shower at the Lake Club in Poland, Ohio, planned by her mother’s best friend, Karen Sebo. “I didn’t have any part in planning the shower, which was actually quite a treat!” tells Megan. “[It was] a complete surprise. She and my mom wouldn’t let me have any details. I only knew that it would be a floral theme, and that was it.”

Ohio floral and event designer Joe Mineo Creative adorned the space with a plethora of greenery and pink blooms to accentuate the liveliness of the occasion. “There were more flowers in the room than I think I’ve seen in my entire life, and everything was bright and cheery, which is tough to do in late winter [and] early spring in Ohio,” the bride smiles. Unbeknownst to Megan, a calligraphy artist arrived for a unique activity. “We all wrote love letters to someone important in our lives, thanking them for being so wonderful, and then we took the letters [to the artist] and she transcribed them for us in her beautiful writing and mailed them out,” Megan muses. Another unconventional element of the shower was the perfume station, which was quite the crowd-pleaser. “There were tons of different scents, and we combined them to make our own unique scent,” she says. “We all wore our perfumes on the wedding day.”

As she reminisces, Megan affirms that the shower truly reflected her taste. “From the calligrapher, to the cookie table and tins, to the Champagne and name-tag station, to the sushi, to the perfume station, to the live flowers literally filling the room, I don’t think anyone has ever seen a shower quite like that,” she confides. “I love things that are a bit out-of-the-box and nontraditional, and this was it in every way.”
