After being introduced by mutual friends, Erin Costales and Brock Osweiler – a NFL quarterback for the Houston Texans (previously the Denver Broncos) – began a romantic courtship. Having originally planned to propose to his beloved in Vail, Colorado, Brock began to get anxious having the ring hidden away in his closet. So while getting ready for dinner one night at their Scottsdale home, he popped the question spur of the moment. “It was incredibly sweet, perfect, and from the heart,” says Erin.

Since the couple wanted to host their wedding during the football off-season at their dream Arizona wedding venue, they selected the only date available during their desired timeframe. “After the first time Brock played golf at [the club], he knew right away that when he got married, he wanted it to be off the 18th green. It was our first and only call,” says Erin. With the help of their wedding planner, Amy Mancuso, the couple planned a beautiful event in a neutral color palette with pops of burgundy at the Mediterranean-inspired venue.

Due to unexpected rain on their wedding day, a last minute tent was erected for the nuptials. “Our wedding planner saved the day!” exclaims the bride. Brock and Erin exchanged vows in front of 120 loved ones, making sure to thank their guests for being with them during the ceremony. “Both of our grandparents could not make the trip, so we asked our officiant to acknowledge them during the service,” Erin adds. Following the ceremony and cocktail hour, friends and family gathered for a sit-down dinner service in a cozy room illuminated by romantic candlelight, twinkling overhead lights, and chandeliers.

During the couple’s first dance to “Thinking Out Loud” by Ed Sheeran, the groom romantically picked up his bride and dipped her, as a surprise to Erin and attendees. The rest of the evening accomplished the bride and groom’s desire to host an event that allowed everyone to truly have fun and celebrate. “One of Brock’s college football coaches got on the microphone and sang ‘Sweet Caroline’ to close out the night – it was amazing! And a family friend ripped his pants breakdancing,” she shares of the festive party.

Guests enjoyed slices of a five-tier almond wedding cake decorated with a quilted pattern and white chocolate flowers. To offer revelers a late-night snack, pizza was provided towards the end of the celebration. Though the day did not go entirely as planned, Erin and Brock had an exceptional time celebrating their love and marriage with family and friends. Taking their own advice, the couple offers this piece of wisdom to other couples: “Remember that the night will go by faster than you think, so take moments to stop and soak it all in.”
