After meeting online, Joseph McCarty finally met his future wife Katie Beckham in person only a few weeks later. When she arrived at the airport, he kissed her immediately. “She was more beautiful in person than I imagined,” Joseph remembers. “I knew she was my future.”

When Joseph told Katie’s father his intentions, he gave him three goals to reach before the next step was made. After Joseph accomplished those goals, he asked Katie’s parents for their blessing. Of course, they said yes – and so did Katie during a romantic backyard proposal. The father of the bride had one more request: wrap up their family’s wedding season by year end. Thus, Katie and her mom got busy planning a gorgeous wedding in less than six months.

Though the venue was under construction on their initial site tour, the bride knew it was special. “I could tell how incredibly unique it was going to be and immediately fell in love,” she confirms. “I had a pretty clear vision – one of timeless elegance, vintage style, and classical vibes,” shares Katie, whose middle name is Rose, of her English rose garden-inspired wedding. “The European-styled estate and glass conservatory was perfect as a backdrop for my dream wedding.”

A string quartet and piano accompaniment set a romantic tone for the classic garden ceremony showcasing white and blush garden roses, dahlias, spray roses, hydrangeas, and delphinium, with Jackson vine adorning the castle-style arch doorway leading to the courtyard and the gold-dome gazebo.

Katie was gorgeous in a strapless gown, which she accessorized with a family-heirloom sixpence in her shoe, her late maternal grandmother’s handkerchief in her pocket, and her paternal grandmother’s blue brooch pinned to her bouquet. “As she came walking down the aisle, it started to rain – not a pouring rain, but a misting magical kind,” remembers the groom. “She and I both felt like this was a baptizing of our relationship and a blessing from God.”

The ceremony was timed beautifully to allow for the sunset to occur just as dinner service was ending. “We wanted the ambience of ‘golden hour’ light shining through the beautiful glass conservatory,” adds the bride. The consideration didn’t end there – the catering team also implemented a synchronized dinner service, so all guests were served simultaneously by servers in white dinner jackets with linen towels hand-embroidered with the pair’s monogram. “It added such a formal touch and was beautiful to watch,” she adds.

Luxurious textured linens were combined with gold-rimmed place settings and elegant centerpieces featuring garden roses, ranunculuses, tulips, snapdragons, peonies, and more in vibrant shades of pink, orange, coral, and blush.

To complement the soaring ceilings, dramatic towering floral arrangements appeared to “float” over lower centerpieces arranged alongside taper candles and votives to create a warm, romantic ambience. Guests spent all night dancing to a crooner-style live band, “which went right in line with Katie’s vintage vision for the whole wedding,” the groom adds of his selection – having the added benefit of keeping him comfortable despite the tinnitus he developed during his Air Force military service.

“Our focus was on each other, our love, and our people,” notes the bride of their dream day. “We made a conscious effort throughout the planning to focus on enjoying the day, getting married before God, and worrying less about things being perfect for pictures.” The next day, the newlyweds set off on a special honeymoon with familial nostalgia at Disney World, where the bride’s parents honeymooned 30 years prior.
