Just about one month before Anee Davtyan’s stunning July wedding, she was joined by loved ones at a colorful bridal shower designed to reflect her cheerful personality. “I like to have fun and I always have a smile on my face, but above all, I make sure everyone around me is happy too,” she shares. “The bright colors of the florals and linens created a vibrant energy that put a big smile on everyone’s face who walked in.”

In fact, the gorgeous décor of the event was a complete surprise to the bride-to-be. “I gave my event designer, Eddie Zaratsian, the creative freedom to do whatever he wanted… I saw a picture of the tablecloth pattern three days before the shower, but that’s literally it – everything else was a beautiful surprise!” she smiles.

Friends and family were seated at round tables covered with pink floral-print linens and enjoyed a Mediterranean-focused menu with a modern twist. Guests also enjoyed an open bar and custom cocktails with beautiful floral treatments: a “Cosmic Love” cosmopolitan, “Mint to Be” mojito, and “Devotion Potion” mimosas.

“The bridal shower not only pumped up everyone for the wedding, but also gave me and my family a lifetime of memories we will cherish forever.”

In addition to delectable food and drink, attendees played a variety of bridal shower games. Favorites included: “Dress the Bride” where two groups competed to dress the bride in all of the wedding essentials first; the “Ping Pong Dance'' where players tried to dance off a collection of ping-pong balls attached to their backs; and “Find Anee’s Perfect Match” where guests found scratchers underneath their place settings and had to scratch a picture of Onick with Anee to win!

While many bridal showers are traditionally women-only, Anee followed the Armenian tradition of having her fiancé, the man of honor, and any close male family members of the bride and groom join the event towards the end. “My now husband, man of honor, brother, and brother in law joined us for a couple’s tango, cake cutting, and games,” affirms the bride. “We specifically waited for the guys to come before playing musical chairs/scavenger hunt. One of the items players had to find was a male’s belt before sitting on a chair. All the women just attacked the four guys for their belts, and their reaction was absolutely priceless. We all had a good laugh.”

Anee was overjoyed with the generosity of her friends and family, but most of all, she loved making memories with her nearest and dearest and listening to their sweet words. “From addressing my late father to her beautiful wishes for Onick and I, my maid of honor’s speech left everyone in happy tears,” confirms Anee. “The bridal shower not only pumped up everyone for the wedding, but also gave me and my family a lifetime of memories we will cherish forever.”
