After Lukasz Skowronski proposed to Bianca Pappas at the same location of their first date, the New York couple had knew exactly what they wanted for their wedding day. “I did my own research, attended bridal shows, and visited venues to see who could make my vision a reality,” confirms Bianca. “Since I am in public relations and have done a lot of event planning, I took the reins with most of the planning with my mom’s help.”

The lovebirds commenced their elegant wedding with a classic ceremony held in the beautiful St. Patrick’s Cathedral. The couple’s 190 loved ones joined as Bianca and Lukasz exchanged vows. Showcasing the glamour she most wanted for her special day, Bianca’s ensemble showcased a detailed designer gown by Galia Lahav from Bridal Reflections with an open back and beautiful tulle skirt. She carried a lush bouquet of orchids as she walked down the aisle, which was her favorite moment of the day.

Following the wedding ceremony, friends and family were invited to a cocktail hour where guests were entertained with various fare stations and passed hors d'oeuvres at Cipriani, a landmark venue on 42nd Street in New York City. As attendees entered the reception space, they were in awe of the exquisite décor.

“We incorporated our Italian, Greek, and Polish culture through the food and music we selected.”

Using cherry blossoms as the theme for the reception, the romantic, lush trees lined the entrance as guests walked in and found their seats on drink stirrers displayed in Champagne flutes, and acrobats suspended from the ceiling poured more bubbly for attendees. A vibrant purple lighting design filled the room, and guest tables were cloaked in gold and white details that further complemented the grand centerpieces of cherry blossoms adorned with cascading candles.

“We incorporated our Italian, Greek, and Polish culture through the food and music we selected,” shares the bride of the personalized aspect of the day. Loved ones indulged in a wide variety of savory dishes, ranging from a prime roast filet of beef with Barolo wine sauce to Chilean sea bass served with ratatouille and potato tortino. The couple also included the Polish tradition of the bread and salt blessing with their parents. After cutting their towering confection, the new Mr. and Mrs. spent the rest of the night dancing with their loved ones in celebration.

Reminiscing upon her dream wedding, Bianca shares advice for other couples planning their special day: “Give yourself enough time in the planning process and enjoy every moment,” she asserts. “Make lists, stick to your budget, and have fun! Don’t settle for less than what you want.”
