Wedding planning is known to be a stressful and difficult task – it’s part of why most engagements are at least a year long! Of course, professionals can be hired to help everything go smoothly, but there will always be some tasks that the couple getting married has to take care of themselves. As useful as checklists and to-do lists are for staying organized and on top of your schedule, it can get overwhelming to see how many items there are to handle.
You may have heard the habit some people have of writing down things they’ve already accomplished on their to-do list just so they can cross it out. That might not ultimately be helpful for anything besides morale, but we have the next best method for when you’re feeling stuck in the planning process. While plenty of important tasks will involve multiple meetings, phone calls, and/or discussions, there are a few things on your to-do list that should only take about an hour at most. Tackle one of the following tasks when you need to get some wedding planning done, but don’t have time to research every florist in the tri-state area.
- Creating your wedding website. Unless you’re coding a new webpage from scratch, choosing a template and filling it with the necessary information shouldn’t take too long.
- Organize your room block. Many websites will give you the option to search several area hotels at once, but even if that is not an option, inquiring with the closest properties near your venue is something easily handled on a lunch break.
- Come up with a hashtag. If you choose to have a hashtag for the big day, you don’t want to waste too much time stressing on it. No more than an hour of brainstorming should suffice, and if you still don’t have a good idea, it might be best to go without.
- Select your undergarments. Whether it’s fancy lingerie or practical shapewear, once you have your bridal gown it should be pretty easy to decide what to wear underneath it.
