Laura Herring and Ted Disabato hit it off right away after being introduced by a mutual friend. Their relationship blossomed over time, and the lovebirds went on vacation to Lake Tahoe. During a hike that embraced the beautiful scenery of the lake and mountains, Ted got on one knee to present a stunning sapphire engagement ring as blue as Lake Tahoe itself and asked Laura to marry him.

They decided to tie the knot in the city they call home, St. Louis. “Overall, I think the most important aspect of our vision for the day was celebrating friends and family, so this really guided all our decisions,” the bride explains. One way to include family was by having her sister-in-law Kate Disabato design and oversee all the invitations and paper products for the big day. Ted’s young daughter Kennedy was also included, serving as the flower girl for the church ceremony.

Laura looked lovely in a sleek lace gown with illusion straps, a V-neckline, and dramatic train. Her cascading bouquet was composed of cream roses, calla lilies, and orchids. Ted was dashing in a classic tuxedo paired with a white necktie, and his daughter looked adorable in a full ankle-length ball gown with lace cap sleeves, accessorized with a darling flower crown.

The reception space was the picture of elegance, tied together with silver linens. There were both square and circular tables, as well as a glass-topped king’s tables with floating candles and low floral arrangements giving the appearance of a runner. The taller centerpieces featured large ivory blossoms as well as cascading garlands of orchids, reflecting the glimmering chandeliers from above.

“With more than 350 guests, we still wanted to maintain a sense of intimacy,” Laura explains. “We wanted our guests to feel the night was about them enjoying it just as much as we were!” One way the attendees were treated was through the multitude of dessert options, including fresh strawberries, lemon bars, and two cakes. The traditional confection had white buttercream frosting and was adorned with blush and ivory roses and alabaster calla lilies. Highlighting Kennedy once again, the little girl was delighted by a special rainbow cake in her honor.

The festivities ended shortly before midnight, and it wasn’t long before the newlyweds jetted off to Hawaii for their honeymoon.
